Rapa Nui,UNESCO World Heritage Centre<\/h2>\n

Eater Island\u2019s protected area acquired the status of a National Park on January 16, 1935 by Supreme Decree No. 103 of the Ministry of Land and colonization, being declared a National Historic Landmark that very same year.<\/p>\n

The Rapa Nui National Park is administered, since 2017, by the Ma’u Henua Indigenous Community<\/strong>. The park has an area of 7,150.88 hectares, which constitutes 43.5% of the total area of Easter Island. On December 8, 1995, the Rapa Nui National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The motus, the islets adjacent to the island, were declared a Natural Sanctuary, in the year 1976, by Supreme Decree No. 446 of the Chilean Ministry of Public Education.<\/p>\n

Mandatory guide<\/h2>\n

Since the reopening of the island to tourism in August 2022, to visit the sites of the Rapa Nui National Park, it is mandatory to be accompanied by an accredited local guide or a Rapa Nui host over 18 years of age<\/strong>. Otherwise you will not be able to access the park. The only places where this measure is not mandatory are Tahai<\/a> and Hanga Rau (does not include the Ahu<\/a> sector), better known as Anakena beach<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You can hire a tour at one of the Easter Island tourist agencies<\/a> or contact a guide in the database of accredited guides<\/a> that you can filter by language or nationality.<\/p>\n

Entrance fee to the National Park<\/h2>\n

The Rapa Nui National Park entrance fees are as follows:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Chilean adults (+ 13 years old): 40,000 CLP (Chilean pesos)
\n\u2022 Chilean children (7 to 12 years old): 20,000 CLP (Chilean pesos)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Foreign adults (+ 13 years old): 95.000 CLP (Chilean pesos)
\n\u2022 Foreign children (7 to 12 years old): 38.000 CLP (Chilean pesos)<\/p>\n

Observations<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Children under 7 years old do not pay admission.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Students and seniors pay normal rate.<\/p>\n

\u2022 All visitors to the National Park must pay their entrance fee.<\/p>\n

\u2022 No one can enter the Park outside the established hours.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The ticket is individual, non-transferable and valid only for the stay on the island.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The entrance has a duration of 10 days, from the first control and can be inspected anywhere in the Rapa Nui National Park, so we recommend that you always carry your ticket.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The ticket gives the right to enter Rano Raraku and Orongo only once. The other sites have no visit limit.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Special activities (events, photographs, filming, etc.) require prior authorization and special rates apply according to the regulations.<\/p>\n
