Iti Lafken
Iti Lafken is located in front of the small beach of Hanga Roa, known as “Poko Poko”. The name of our restaurant fuses the Rapanui term “Iti”, which means small, with the Mapudungún word “Lafken” which refers to a small beach or small coastal bode.
This combination of words in native languages is also a declaration of intentions since our cuisine seeks to fuse Rapanui cuisine with Mapuche cuisine, always using raw materials from local farmers and fishermen.
Among our special dishes are the “Kutral” (fire in Mapudungun), based on the traditional Rapanui curanto but reinvented: mashed banana, beef tenderloin, fried sweet potato, tomato and roasted chives; the “Costa Placer”, made with fish, with po’e (typical Rapanui sweet), pebre de cochayuyo (seaweed) and garlic shrimp; or “Agua Dulce”, a typical dish of the island’s gastronomy based on mashed sweet potato, local fish, pineapple chutney and walnuts,
We invite you to try our breakfasts, lunches (menus from 12:30 p.m.), sharing boards, sandwiches, à la carte dishes and also our famous Ice Teas made with medicinal flowers and herbs and our signature cocktails with liqueurs based on teas and infusions with medicinal herbs.
We have live music on Thursdays from 9:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 2:00 p.m.
