Poerava Cabalgatas invites you to discover Easter Island in a different way and to explore it through the less traveled trails on the back of docile horses that will make your trip an unforgettable adventure.
We put at your disposal several routes, at dawn and dusk (previous reservation), which include round trip transfer between your accommodation and the starting and ending points of the horseback riding.

Route 1: Terevaka

The Terevaka volcano is the highest point of Rapa Nui, so its summit is the only place from which you can have 360 degree panoramic views. Here as in no other place, one becomes aware of how far away Easter Island is from any other place inhabited by man.

Approximate duration: 2 hours (1 hour of ascent and another one of descent)

Route 2: Caves

During this excursion we will visit two beautiful caves, very different from each other: Ana Kakenga, also known as the cave of the two windows, which gives breathtaking views of the sea breaking on the cliffs, and Ana Te Pahu a huge volcanic tube at the foot of the Maunga Terevaka that in ancient times served as shelter and shelter and that is the largest cave on the island.

Approximate duration: 3 hours

Route 3: North Coast

The north coast is the most virgin area of Easter Island since there are no vehicles passing through and you can only go on horseback or on foot. On the way we can see petroglyphs, remains of some moai, ahus, caves and enjoy the silence and peace of this unique place. The ride ends at the beautiful Anakena beach.

Approximate duration: 5 hours.

Route 4: Poike

The Poike is the oldest volcano on Easter Island. The climb to the Poike on horseback is one of the less common routes due to its distance, however it is a beautiful experience that gives the opportunity to enjoy the silence and the tranquil while contemplating the landscape. From the top it is possible to have wonderful views of Ahu Tongariki, the largest ahu of all Rapa Nui.

Approximate duration: 2h 30m.
